Bush Really Does Hate Science
In the same round table discussion with Texas reporters now infamous for Bush's odd comments on intelligent design, he also had this to say about Palmeiro testing positive for anabolic steroids:
"Still do," eh? Even in the wake of a test? Even knowing that the results have been addressed confidentially since May, and have been subject to an appeal process that failed to invalidate them? Even after standing by and letting a Republican Congress publicly and pointlessly flog the issue of steroids while a war was on? Are you serious?
Well, Rafael Palmeiro is a friend. He's testified in public, and I believe him. He's the kind of person that's going to stand up in front of the klieg lights and say he didn't use steroids, and I believe him. Still do.
