Boy on a Bike -- Highlights
For very different reasons, Brian's last two posts are great. First, he writes about Saturday's Halloween-themed alleycat, which due to a nasty cold then taking up residence in my chest I had little choice but to forego. It was physically painful to skip it though; the day so brilliant, the weather, wind notwithstanding, so autumnally perfect.
Second, he reproduces in full a decades-old article that paid tribute to his great grandfather, a beautifully rendered piece about someone who sounds entirely remarkable. Incidentally, the piece also pays homage to an East Liberty Shangri-La I've never heard Brian mention before, notwithstanding it's where he grew up. Perhaps, assuming it's still there in some worthy form, one might convince Brian to guide him there on bikes some unseasonably warm winter afternoon.
